The Royal Parks Police has issued an ice warning reminder following an incident in Bushy Park this afternoon.

Officers were called to the Heron Pond after reports of a man walking on the ice despite clear warning signs surrounding the area.

The Royal Parks Police took to Twitter to issue their warning, writing: "@MPSRoyal_Parks officers at #BushyPark have just dealt with a male seen walking on the ice at the Heron Pond, despite all the warning signage.

"Please can all park users stay off of the ice and remind your children of the dangers during this cold snap."

This morning's incident comes days after tragic news broke of the death of three young boys aged 11, 10 and eight after falling through ice into a lake in Solihull last Sunday.

Then on Wednesday, a fourth boy, aged six, was also confirmed to have died despite receiving treatment in hospital since Sunday's incident took place.

Despite temperatures expecting to rise over the weekend, the majority of lakes and ponds within parklands remain frozen over and Police officers are urging families to ensure their young ones remain well clear.
