Richmond Rugby kicks off 6-week free school meals drive

21st Dec 2020 | Local News

Following the hugely positive response from Richmond Rugby's free school meals initiative over the summer months and most recently during half-term, we are delighted to confirm we will be supplying free meals to local school children from today (Monday, December 21) until Thursday, January 31, including delivering food to children on Christmas Day.

Our catering team at the Richmond Athletic Association (RAA) are cooking daily nutritional meals which will then be collected and delivered to local school children who have been identified throughout our community.

The meals will be collected each day by our extraordinary team of club volunteers who will be working hard throughout the festive period to support families and their children who are most in need during this challenging period.

The initiative has been made possible following a grant from The London Community Foundation, generous donations from club partners The Victoria Foundation and Tacklebag Teamwear, as well as individual pledges via our Atlas Foundation Community Page.

Richmond's Community Programme is proudly supported and operated by club partner Community Group who continue to drive all of our community work and engagement.

Richmond Rugby head of community Dom Palacio said: "We are incredibly proud to be in a position to support our community in this way.
