Commuters coming in to Richmond should expect delays to their journeys today due to damage by the storm last night.

TFL's website states that there are severe delays on the Willesden Junction to Richmond overground line as well as on the district line, both of which could disrupt Richmond commuters.

Parts of London received a month's worth of rain yesterday, causing flash floods in many areas including Richmond.

Over in Kew 47.8mm of rain fell in a 24-hour period, most of it in just one hour. The average monthly rainfall in July is 44.5mm.

The London Fire Brigade took more than 1,000 calls related to flooding and Thames Water said it received more than 2,500 calls in five hours yesterday due to flooding sewers.

TFL says today's delays are caused by works to repair infrastructure that was damaged by the flooding.
