The MP for Richmond Park, Sarah Olney has responded to a report from TFL which shows a 30% increase in crime from this time last year.

The latest Transport for London (TfL) 'Six-month Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour Report', which showed a 30% rise in crime from the same period in FY22/23.

Overall London-wide crime has gone up by 8% from the previous time period.

Sarah Olney said: "Londoners should be able to feel safe on their public transport, yet these shocking figures tell a different story.

"This Conservative Government and the Mayor of London need to end their endless bickering, get around the table, and come up with a strategy to tackle this surge in crime.

She added: "People across the capital deserve better - which is why the Liberal Democrats are calling for a return to local community policing which will help keep Londoners safe."
