Tomorrow pupils from several Richmond schools will be joined by Richmond Park MP Sarah Olney as they sell their homemade chutneys and sauces outside Richmond's Whole Foods Market.

Pupils from Grey Court School, St Richards CE Primary School, Trafalgar Infant School and Sheen Mount Primary School will be selling their produce from 11:30am to 1:00pm outside the shop on George St.

The event is the culmination of the group of schools' Schools to Market programme run by food education charity School Food Matters and Sarah Olney MP has expressed her support for the project and delight at being able to join them tomorrow.

Olney said: "I'm delighted to be able to go down and lend my support to these talented and inventive young children.

"The pandemic has been a profoundly difficult experience for so many of us, not least young children who've been forced to forego proper education and spend long periods of time separated from their friends.

"I'm grateful to School Food Matters for organising fun and exciting events like this.

"They are essential in terms of getting our children back on track and providing them not just with valuable life skills, but with memories to cherish after an extremely trying year."

The food has been prepared at pupils' respective schools, from produce either grown in the school gardens or harvested from a local farm.
