Taxi rank in central Richmond blocked by emergency work

A large section of pavement near Richmond railway station has been fenced off for emergency repair work.

The taxi rank on The Quadrant has also been blocked by the UK Power Network repair which is to "supply a customer connection".

About a 15 metre section of the pavement and road outside Sainsbury's, Costa and Don Fernando's Spanish tapas restaurant has been affected by the work.

A sign says it will be completed by Friday, July 9 - but it looks unclear whether the deadline will be met.

Taxis are still able to stop on the other side of the road almost directly opposite the station.
