Update: Kew Gardens is open but the Children's Garden remains closed for the day.

Two of Richmond's biggest attractions are making a slow start this morning due to the icy conditions.

The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew said: "Kew Gardens is closed today until at least 11am for safety reasons due to ice on the ground. Please check back for further updates as we review throughout the day.

"If you have a time slot booked before 11am, we'll be in touch via text message with your options."

The Royal Parks said: "Broomfield Hill in Richmond Park is closed to all traffic right now, including bicycles, due to sheet ice making the road unsafe."

The charity added: "The road between Broomfield Hill car park and Robin Hood Gate is not yet safe for bikes, remaining roads generally clear but there may be small patches of ice persisting for a little while longer. Be careful out there folks."
