A new campaign has been launched highlighting the impact of Ted Lasso on Richmond, with a video encouraging fans from around the world to visit the town's famous filming locations.
Be Richmond, the Business Improvement District (BID) for Richmond town centre, has released the campaign showcasing the streets, pubs and landmarks featured throughout the hit Apple TV+ series.
Since Ted Lasso first aired, Richmond has become a popular destination for fans travelling from the United States, Canada, Australia and across Europe to visit locations featured in the show.
According to Be Richmond, the series has helped boost footfall for independent shops, cafés, restaurants and hospitality businesses.
The campaign also showcases Richmond's riverside setting, independent businesses and community, encouraging visitors to explore beyond the filming locations.
Fay Cannings, Chief Executive of Be Richmond, said: "Ted Lasso has had an extraordinary impact on Richmond and has only served to strengthen its position as a top-tier visitor destination.
"Through the show millions of people around the world have been introduced to our historic, picturesque town, and we're still seeing visitors making the journey to experience the locations they've fallen in love with on screen.
"This campaign is a celebration of that legacy. Whether you're a lifelong fan of the show or discovering Richmond for the first time, we hope it inspires people to explore our incredible town, support our local businesses and experience the warm welcome that makes Richmond so special."
Richmond has featured prominently throughout the award-winning comedy, with locations including Richmond Green, the Prince's Head pub, Richmond Station and the town's riverside becoming instantly recognisable to fans as the fictional home of AFC Richmond.
Be Richmond said the campaign forms part of its ongoing work to promote Richmond town centre as a destination to live, work, shop and visit, while celebrating the global profile the television series has brought to the area.
The release of the promotional campaign from BeRichmond comes as Apple TV+ get set to air the fourth season of Ted Lasso on Wednesday, 5 August.
