Early risers woke up to spectacular skies this morning.
The images captured by local photographer Ruth Wadey gave the impression that south west London is facing some sort of apocalypse.

However, while the traditional saying suggest red skies in the morning should serve as a warning to shepherds and sailors, it seems they can breathe easily.
Most of today is predicted to be warm with a light breeze. However the Met Office suggests the area could see some thunder and showers between 5pm and 7pm.

Ruth's spectacular pictures are often used on national weather bulletins. Posting the images on social media, she wrote: 'Woke up to a stunning start to the working week at Twickenham. Did you have awesome skies like this too?'
