Rail lines through Richmond borough have reopened after police dealt with an incident near the railway close to Kew Bridge railway station.

National Rail said disruption between Barnes and Brentford ended at 8:56pm on Monday, 27 April after services were affected for almost two hours.

The incident was first reported at 7:01pm and impacted South Western Railway services between London Waterloo station and Twickenham/Weybridge, as well as Waterloo circular routes.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police told Nub News: "We were called to Kew Bridge station at around 6.40pm yesterday (27 April) following reports of a concern for welfare.

"Officers attended and a person was taken to a place of safety."

Services have now returned to normal, although passengers were advised to check before travelling while timetables recovered.
