Punters headed back to pubs across Richmond as the reopening of the economy took a major step forward.

Shops, hairdressers, gyms, pubs, cafes and restaurants were allowed to reopen from yesterday (Monday, April 12).

Even the grey weather could not stop the town centre from becoming noticeably busier as residents flocked to enjoy the things they've missed out on over the past few months.

A number of pubs decided to reopen at the first opportunity, including the Lass O'Richmond Hill.

The pub on Queen's Road near Richmond Park is run by general manager James Doyle.

"Welcome back folks, the moment we've all been waiting for and look: new stretch tent," he said in a video.

"It's heated, it's lit, so no need to worry about the weather anymore.

"If you're trying to book and we look fully booked, just give us a call (020 8940 1306). We've extended the terrace and have all these amazing new tables ready for you to just come and eat our delicious food next to the park.

"We've missed you. Welcome back folks."
