British singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor is set to surprise Richmond residents this week with a free festive pop-up and live choir performance.

Ocado and the vocalist behind hit song 'Murder On The Dance Floor' are set to host a festive pop-up on George Street, Richmond.

The event will feature free food tasters, live music and a special guest performance from the pop star.

It takes place on Friday, 12 December 2025, from 12pm to 2pm, and will showcase Britain's wonderfully varied Christmas food traditions.

Visitors can enjoy live performances from the Ocado Choir, made up of the company's delivery drivers and staff , alongside the Soul Choir, with Ellis-Bextor joining for her special performance at 1pm.

Together, they will debut "Season's Eatings", a reworked Christmas carol created by Ocado to celebrate the nation's festive food quirks.

Alongside the music, Ocado's "Season's Eatings" food truck will be serving free samples of dishes inspired by real British Christmas habits, including tikka pigs in blankets, crab rarebit, and Dubai chocolate brownies with pistachio cream.

The pop-up is part of Ocado's national Christmas campaign, which celebrates the fun and modern mix of festive traditions across the UK.

Research by the retailer found that over half of Brits (55%) have their own unique festive food customs, from mince pies topped with cheese to seafood breakfasts, while 40% said they are open to experimenting with new flavours this Christmas.
