A sudden burst of hail fell across Richmond, with heavy rainfall and giant hail stones.

The outdoor swimming pool at Pools on the Park has been closed as a result.

The leisure centre tweeted: "The outdoor pool is currently closed due to the weather and will remain closed for 30 minutes after the storm has passed.

"We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."

There is a high likelihood that some homes across Richmond will have flood damage.

An air ambulance helicopter also landed on Twickenham Green.

Viva Stevens tweeted: "Thunder bolts and lightening and a 10 second shower. E for effort!"

Shona @macshona wrote: "Well that was pretty epic, marble sized hailstones, thunder & lightening whilst being 33 degrees."

Twickerman said: "The most dramatic hail storm I've ever witnessed in Twickenham."
