A person has been taken to a major trauma centre after falling at a home in Twickenham.

All emergency services including the air ambulance helicopter which landed on Twickenham Green attended the incident shortly after 3pm today (Wednesday, August 12).

The fall happened as a torrential hail storm broke over the town.

There have been unconfirmed reports on social media that the injured person was a builder who fell from a roof.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said crews were called to Saville Road.

Richmond Nub News has received photos of fire and police crews on Laurel Avenue which is directly opposite.

The spokesman said: "We were called at 3.21pm today to reports of a fall at a residential address in Saville Road, Twickenham."

"We dispatched a number of resources including an ambulance crew, a medic in a fast response car and an incident response officer.

"We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance."

"We treated a patient at the scene and took them to a major trauma centre."
