Kew residents have been warned of thieves operating in the village.

PC Jordan Wharmsby of the Kew Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "I just wanted to jump on here quickly to let you know we've had two incidents of pickpocketing reported around Kew Village.

"One incident was reported today (Monday, December 7) and the other last Monday. Both victims had been shopping in Tesco around the time of the theft.

"Please take a moment to be mindful of your surroundings when using one of the village ATMs, particularly if using the shops afterwards.

"In response to these reports we have been working with Tesco to retrieve their CCTV and have been carrying out uniformed patrols and may employ other policing tactics going forward.

"Thank you for your vigilance and please be sure to report any crimes to better inform our patrols.

"If you have any further information or questions, drop us an email at [email protected]."
