PHOTO GALLERY: Richmond shops still open in lockdown

7th Nov 2020 | Local News

It's the first weekend of a four-week lockdown.

Richmond town centre is quieter than usual without the hustle and bustle generated around pubs, which have mostly all closed their doors.

But many cafes, coffee shops and restaurants have stayed open and continue to offer food and drinks on takeaway and delivery.

There's also a mix of other stores which plan on keeping business going until the December 2 lockdown end date.

Many of Richmond's tailors were working in their shops when we took a walk through town yesterday morning (Friday), possibly because their sewing and other machinery is too heavy to transport.

The government has set out a long list of essential businesses and a second list for businesses subject to restrictions - but even these are allowed to continue offering delivery and click-and-collect services.

The photos show nine of our shops which remain open in some capacity. Click through the carousel at the top of this story to see all the pictures.
