Petersham Nurseries will open the private gardens of Petersham House in Richmond this September for three special evenings of al fresco dining over open flames.

The Fireside Feasts will take place on 4, 5 and 6 September, welcoming guests to long-table dinners set among the vibrant late-summer borders of the historic gardens, owned by Gael and Francesco Boglione.

Joining the Petersham culinary team will be Gherardo Gaetani, known as Baru, travelling from Tuscany to share his expertise in open fire cooking.

Guests will be greeted with seasonal canapés such as spiced roasted nuts drizzled with Petersham honey, or bruschetta topped with freshly harvested garden produce, before sitting down to a three-course menu rooted in provenance, seasonality and simplicity.

The main course will feature organic, sustainably-produced meat cooked slowly over hot coals, accompanied by seasonal vegetables such as roasted courgettes.

A vegetarian menu will also be available. Dessert could include fire-roasted peaches with whipped cream and fresh mint.

House wine is included in the £175 ticket price, with an outdoor woodland bar serving seasonal cocktails including Bellinis and spritzes.

Lara Boglione, of Petersham Nurseries, said: "I have fond memories of summer evening suppers in our family gardens, when the air is scented with jasmine and woodsmoke from the barbecues.

"We can't wait to welcome guests to this special place for our series of Fireside Feasts.

"Summer sees an abundance of great produce come into season, so we've selected some of our favourites to cook very simply, over open flames, to really allow the flavours to shine through."

The events will start at 7:30pm each evening. Tickets can be booked via Eventbrite.
