Plans are progressing for new pubs and bars to replace a now-closed pub in Richmond town centre.

Two separate companies have won licensing permision to operate in the former Duke pub.

It looks like the large pub will be split in two, with Tavern Propco Ltd in 2 Duke Street and Bricks and Fuel Ltd at 3 Duke Street.

Furniture has been removed from this second part of the former pub and the Duke's name and branding is no longer on the frontage.

The new licences were issued by Richmond Council after applications by the two hospitality companies.

It gives them permission to to sell alcohol between 10am and 11pm Monday-Thursday and until half past midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

Once covid restrictions are lifted and they are able to open, of course.
