This June, members of the Richmond borough community will be able to hear from and engage with local grassroots charities at an exciting Dragon's Den-style event, hosted by Richmond borough's place-based giving charity, OneRichmond.
The event will see six charities pitch in front of four 'dragons' (local businesspeople and philanthropists), and audiences will also have the opportunity to pledge their time as volunteers, pro bono work, or donations, if they feel inspired by what they see.
The night will be hosted by a well-known presenter with strong links to the borough.
It event will take place at The Exchange in Twickenham on 9 June, and is open to the public, with tickets priced at £20 per person.
It promises to be a night of entertainment and celebration of the great work that smaller charities in Richmond are doing.
OneRichmond is now looking for charities to apply for the event. Its focus is on social isolation; a cause which encompasses a wide range of needs, from disability to financial insecurity, mental health, youth and elderly isolation, and more.
Social isolation is about disconnection from community and social ties, rather than just a feeling of loneliness, and it can be caused by many different factors.
With the Dragon's Den event, OneRichmond will be able to connect charities working to fight social isolation with residents, businesses, and philanthropists who share in its vision for a more connected and caring borough.
The event is being sponsored by Kier, who is currently working on the Twickenham Riverside development. Kier has been working closely with OneRichmond to ensure it is helping to create positive change within the community it is working in.
Tickets for the Dragon's Den event will go on sale soon – subscribe to OneRichmond's newsletter via its website to ensure you do not miss out.
