Richmond Card owners get their first 30 minutes of parking for free, but the handout is not available this Sunday due to an upgrade.

Notices have been attached to parking meters across the borough and the same message is displayed on the council website.

It tells drivers that they can claim their 30 minutes' free parking with RingGo instead, or call their enforcement line.

"On Sunday October 25 residents will be unable to use their Richmond Cards due to essential maintenance being carried out," the message reads.

"If you are already registered for residency status via an existing RingGo cashless parking account, this can be used to claim 30 minutes free parking.

"Richmond Card holders not registered with RingGo should call the Enforcement Line on 020 8744 0462 for assistance."
