A single day record of 72 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed among Richmond residents.

The virus has spread rapidly among the borough's population since the beginning of September.

More than half of our total number of cases (1,782) have come in the last 30 days of the pandemic.

The total number of new cases in recent days is as follows:

Tuesday, October 20: 72 cases

October 19: 54

October 18: 32

October 17: 19

October 16: 64

October 15: 42

October 14:54

October 13: 41

October 12: 48

You can see how many cases there have been in Richmond, London and the wider UK on the covid case tracker here.

The whole of London is under Tier 2 restrictions, the most significant of these is a ban on members of different households meeting indoors.

Yesterday (Friday, October 23) Richmond Council leader Gareth Roberts gave a video update on our response to the virus and you can watch it above or read a transcript of his comments here.
