UPDATE: Police investigate suspected e-scooter thief after crash

A man was taken to a major trauma centre today with head injuries after a collision in Twickenham.

There was a huge emergency service response with crews rushing from across Richmond borough to the scene.

At least four police and four ambulance vehicles attended and an air ambulance helicopter was also dispatched.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson told Richmond Nub News: "We were called at 12.17pm today to reports of a collision in Cross Deep, Twickenham."

"We dispatched two medics in cars, an incident response officer, and an ambulance crew, with the first of our medics arriving within six minutes. We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance."

"We treated a man at the scene for head injuries and took him to a major trauma centre."
