Man rushed to major trauma centre after crash on Richmond road

A man has been taken to hospital following a crash on a Richmond borough road today (Tuesday, 17 February).
Emergency services were called to Great Chertsey Road at around 8:30am after reports of a road traffic collision.
The London Ambulance Service (LAS) sent an ambulance crew, paramedics in fast response cars and dispatched London's Air Ambulance to the scene.
A man was treated at the roadside before being taken to a major trauma centre by road as a priority, paramedics said.
The eastbound lane of the A316 Lower Richmond Road was temporarily closed at its junction with Clifford Avenue following the crash but has since reopened.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 8.27am today (17 February) to reports of a road traffic collision on Great Chertsey Road, W4.
"We sent resources to the scene including an ambulance crew, paramedics in fast response cars and dispatched London's Air Ambulance.
"We treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre by road as a priority."
