London Overground disruption hits Richmond after freight train fault

Commuters are facing delays and cancellations this morning after a freight train broke down at Willesden Junction, affecting London Overground services between Richmond and Clapham Junction (credit: Nub News).
Commuters are facing delays and cancellations this morning after a freight train broke down at Willesden Junction, affecting London Overground services between Richmond and Clapham Junction (credit: Nub News).

Richmond commuters will have their journeys disrupted this morning as London Overground services face disruption between Richmond and Clapham Junction.

National Rail revealed that earlier today (Monday, 19 January) at 6:25am, a freight train broke down on the lines at Willesden Junction.

Although it has since been moved, the incident has impacted services.

National Rail said: "A broken down freight train at Willesden Junction has now been moved, allowing all lines to reopen.

"As service recovers, trains running between Stratford (London) and Richmond / Clapham Junction may still be delayed by up to 20 minutes, cancelled or revised."

The disruption between Stratford and Richmond / Clapham Junction is expected to last until 9:30am.
