Residents across Richmond upon Thames have voted to elect their 54 councillors for the next four years, with the results currently being counted.

Votes were cast between 7am and 10pm yesterday (Thursday, 7 May) across 18 wards.

Richmond Council confirmed that the turn out for this year's local elections was 50.8%, up from 47.6% in 2022.

Throughout the borough, 75 polling stations were open for residents to vote at with several hundred staff working the stations.

The official count, held at St Mary's University London, is being managed by around 320 staff.

Of the 54 seats, only 28 of those are needed to make up the majority.

Following the 2022 local elections, Richmond Council is controlled by Liberal Democrats under leader Gareth Roberts with The Greens making up the opposition.
