Job of the day: your chance to work at Ham Polo Club

Ham Polo Club is recruiting for a grounds and maintenance contractor.

The job will require the contractor to deliver services six days a week during the polo season. It is offered on an initial six-month contract.

Evening, weekend and flexible working is also a requirement, including on Bank Holidays.

"Situated in a stunning location on the edge of Richmond Park, Ham Polo Club is 25 acres of beautiful scenery next door to the National Trust's Ham House," the club is described as in the job listing.

"The season is busy from May to September and quieter October to February when we work on the sales and improvements for the upcoming year."

Experienced needed:

  • building maintenance
  • trade experience preferable: carpenter, electrician, plumber
  • full clean driving license and preferably experience of large scale mowers and tractors

The contractor will cut the grass, harrow the track at least twice daily, work with teams to repair paddocks, fences and equine facilities, as well as paint and decorate them, among other duties.

The salary ranges between £24,000 and £32,000 depending on experience.
