Residents from Richmond and beyond enjoyed the town centre Christmas light switch-on last week (27 November), plus live entertainment and shopping.

From 4pm, George Street began the Be Festive celebrations, with The Green and Pink Witches, Candy Cane Stilt Walkers and giant Nutcracker characters interacting with the crowds, creating an opportunity for families to capture memorable festive photos.

later on, the Riverside Radio stage hosted a variety of live performances from Be Richmond's entertainers, including the Richmond Music Trust Choir, songs from the smash-hit musical Wicked and a special number from Be Richmond's guest star, Basil Brush.

The moment everyone was waiting for began at 5:45pm when the Mayor of Richmond took to the stage for the official light switch on, brighting up the town centre in Christmas lights at 6pm.
