Highway maintenance works planned across Richmond for 2026

Richmond Council has published details of planned highway maintenance works across Richmond and surrounding areas that will take place during 2026 as part of its ongoing road and pavement improvement programme.

The works form part of the council's long-term investment in local infrastructure, aimed at improving road surfaces, pavements and safety for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.

While some disruption is expected, the council says the improvements are essential to keeping local routes in good condition.

The following roads in and around Richmond are currently scheduled for carriageway resurfacing or major maintenance:

  • Charlotte Road, Barnes
  • Stillingfleet Road, Barnes
  • Glentham Road, Barnes
  • Lonsdale Road (B350), Barnes
  • Elm Bank Gardens, Mortlake & Barnes Common
  • Gipsy Lane, Mortlake & Barnes Common
  • Sheen Lane (B351), Mortlake & Barnes Common
  • Sheen Gate Gardens, East Sheen
  • Vernon Road, East Sheen
  • Howgate Road, East Sheen
  • Portman Avenue, East Sheen
  • Paynesfield Avenue, East Sheen
  • Garrick Road, Kew
  • Lawn Crescent, Kew
  • Nilton Road, Kew
  • West Hall Road, Kew
  • Sandy Lane, Ham, Petersham & Richmond Riverside
  • Compass Hill, Ham, Petersham & Richmond Riverside
  • Petersham Road (A307), Ham, Petersham & Richmond Riverside
  • Grena Road, North Richmond
  • Carrington Road, North Richmond
  • Manor Road (B353), North Richmond
  • Greville Road, South Richmond
  • Onslow Road, South Richmond
  • Ellerker Gardens, South Richmond
  • Church Road (B322), South Richmond
  • Bridge Street (A305), South Richmond

In addition to carriageway works, a number of footway and pavement improvements are also planned in the Richmond area as part of the wider programme.

Exact dates and traffic management arrangements will be confirmed closer to the time.
