Former Richmond Mayor raises over £20,000 for local charities

The former Mayor of Richmond upon Thames, Councillor Suzette Nicholson, accompanied by her Deputy Mayor Councillor Fiona Sacks, presented cheques last week to the two charities she supported during her 2023-24 mayoral year.
A total of £20,921.86 was raised at the Mayor's charity events, with the funds being evenly distributed between SEEN (Support, Empower, Educate and Nurture) and Age UK Richmond.
Cllr Nicholson presented the £10,460.93 cheques to SEEN CEO Fay Hamilton and Age UK Richmond Communication and Fundraising Manager Aydee Burke at the Mayor's Parlour in York House on 5 March 2025.
The former Mayor expressed her thanks to all who helped make it possible during her term in office.
Richmond Council say Cllr Nicholson's charity events were all a huge success and included a popular Tea Dance and Twelfth Night York House Dinner.
Both charity representatives reiterated how important the opportunity was to not only supporting crucial local services, but to raising the profile of their causes.
SEEN is a Twickenham-based charity that provides a safe space to support those facing unplanned pregnancy and baby loss.
It delivers healthy relationships and sex education to empower and nurture the community.
Age UK Richmond is an independent local charity working in the community to deliver services, activities and support for older people, their families and carers. They want everyone to be able to love later life.
