Event of the Week: Richmond art exhibition in beautiful Norman Church

By The Editor

28th Jul 2021 | Local News

It's amazing to see how many Richmond events are going on in the coming weeks and months - how lucky we are to live where we do!

Our top pick for this week is a FREE art exhibition inside an old Norman Church in Barnes, St Mary's.

The church is the perfect setting for this stunning collection from some of the best-selling artists in and around Barnes.

The works were completed during lockdown with artists immersing themselves in the local Barnes Common, which was left to re-wild during the pandemic.

Open 10am until 5pm most days, with all pieces for sale at affordable prices.

Organisers say: "Barnes Artists and Local Photographers were so delighted to discover the abundance of natural beauty on their doorstep during lockdown, they have decided to make it the focus of their summer show.

"The Barnes Common Art show 2021 is an exhibition of affordable artwork by Barnes Artists and local Photographers who have been inspired by the beautiful natural flora, fauna and wildlife on our doorstep.

"All carefully and expertly managed by the Friends of Barnes Common team. The Art show has been organised by Barnes Artists in partnership with the Putney and Barnes group of the London Independent Photographers."

The show is open to the public from 27th July to 4th August at St Mary's Church, Barnes.
