It's amazing to see how many Richmond events are going on in the coming weeks and months - how lucky we are to live where we do!

Our top pick for this week is a series of exciting plays coming up in Kew Gardens starting with The Wind in the Willows.

I think many Richmonders may agree with Kenneth Grahame that "There is nothing -- absolutely nothing -- half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats".

Set against the backdrop of Kew Gardens' lake, ratty, mole and toad will be jumping into their own boat to entertain the whole family in this interactive theatre production.

Tickets for The Wind in the Willows include daytime admission to the Gardens.

Enter via Victoria Gate.

Performances

Wed and Sun: 10.30am

Thurs - Sat: 10.30am and 2pm

Mon 30 Aug: 10.30am and 2pm

What to bring

Pack a portable chair, blanket or cushions to sit on, sun cream, insect repellent and a hat.

Performances last 1 hour 30 minutes and take place across two locations, with a stroll between each, so plan to arrive in time to enjoy your picnic (please note knives and picnic tables are prohibited).

Pack a raincoat in case of inclement weather.

Dressing up is always encouraged so put on your best fairy, elf, pirate, superhero or Jedi ensemble and be part of the adventure.
