Dickins & Jones signage reappears in blast from the past

By The Editor 24th Sep 2020

As Richmond's House of Fraser store is deconstructed, a former inhabitant has revealed its face.

Black and gold Dickins & Jones signage can be seen again on both main entrances.

Dickins & Jones is a part of the House of Fraser group and traded in the large building at 80 George Street between 1970 and 2007.

It was then rebranded as House of Fraser, whose 13-year tenure ended last weekend.

The store is now being stripped apart ahead of potentially being repurposed into a four-floor office block, with additional floors for leisure and retail.

The building is owned by Canadian and Arcadia, part of property investment firm Canadian & Portland Estate (Holdings) ltd group. Read all about their plans for it here.
