Join police and councillors in discussing community safety in your neighbourhood from next month.

Richmond Council is hosting a new round of online discussions with one for every ward in the borough.

The events were held over the summer and proved a success with dozens of local people taking part.

Cllr Michael Wilson is lead member for communities, equalities and the voluntary sector on the council.

He said: "It was clear following the first round of virtual events that community safety is a top issue that people want to discuss, so I am pleased that our colleagues from the police can join us in this next round of dedicated and localised community conversations.

"Coronavirus hasn't gone away. And throughout the pandemic we have been committed to trying to find new, innovative ways to engage and keep in touch with residents."

How to sign up

Residents have been told to pre-register here.

They will then be emailed a link with the Zoom login details. This will be sent twice - a day before and 20 minutes before the events begin.

Purpose of the conversations

The community conversation is chance for ward councillors to hear what matters most to residents and businesses, and to share ideas about the future of neighbourhoods.

Over the past few years, events have been held in every area across the borough.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, physical events are currently not possible, therefore earlier this year the council trialled online engagement sessions using Zoom.

More than 1,200 people registered for the first round of events, sharing their thoughts on issues such as impact of Covid-19, community safety, environmental issues and education.
