UPDATE: Man suffers head wound and is taken to hospital after attack

A Richmond restaurant has been closed this evening, with police in attendance in a high profile incident.

Officers have set up a cordon around Chatora, a contemporary Indian cuisine restaurant on Kew Road.

A forensics 'crime scene investigation' van and a police car parked with its lights flashing are at the scene.

Richmond Nub News understands it was an altercation which led the restaurant to being closed this evening (Tuesday, September 8).

The cordon is in place at the time of writing (7.55pm) and it remains unclear whether it will be lifted in time for Chatora to reopen today.

We have contacted the Metropolitan Police for more information.
