Richmond's police teams have been bolstered by the recruitment of three new members of staff.

Two police community support officers and a special constable have joined the town's south and north police units.

Join us in saying a warm welcome to special constable Nabeel Butt, PCSO Luke Rolt who's on the North Richmond beat and PCSO Lynette Phillip who has joined South Richmond.

Special constables are volunteers with the same powers as police constables. PCSOs do not have powers of arrest but often play more of a community-focussed policing role.

Neighbourhood Chief Inspector Nicholas Hackett-Peacock shared a photo of the new recruits.

"Pleased to meet two new Police Community Support Officers and Special Constable who have joined the @MPSNthRichmond and @MPSSthRichmond teams ðŸ¤," he tweeted.
