Chris Bolingbroke (AKA Captain) set up his mobile bike repair business, Captain's Bike Repairs, in 2022.

Speaking about his background in cycling, Bolingbroke said: "I've been around bikes my whole life, starting life on two wheels down the woods, a shovel over the shoulder, my pal Coley Boi both with a BMX between the knees building ramps and trails wherever we could.

"I love all bikes, all shapes, and all sizes. As long as you're riding, it's all good, whether it's fast, slow, casual, or sporty."

The bike enthusiast moved to London in 2008 and says he "spent many years' fix-gearing [his] way round East London when [he] was a PT clocking high milage at high speeds".

"I was always safe and smooth though," he said.

As an experienced and fully qualified Level 2 CSA certified bike mechanic, Bolingbroke says "I'm here to get your bike running smooth and safe".

He added: "I'll come to you in my purpose-built van and get things back how they should be. I'll treat your bike like my own and get it running as peachy as possible. I look forward to helping you and your bicycle out soon."

Speaking about why he chose to start a mobile business, Bolingbroke told Nub News: "I chose to go mobile as I understood how inconvenient it is to get a broken bike in a car or to get it to a workshop.

"The convenience of having someone come to your home or workplace just makes the whole experience very user friendly."

Captain's "offers small repairs all the way to full bike builds and complete services for family bikes to full blown race bikes, road or mountain bikes and all bikes in between".

Speaking about why local cyclists should choose his service, Bolingbroke said: "Locals should use Captains as I truly pride myself on exceptional customer service and a very friendly and professional experience with 100% guarantees."

Captain's has received five stars on Google Reviews with locals sharing positive reviews about its service.

"Also great to find a mechanic willing to tinker with 1990s Retro Bike parts sympathetically, a dying breed. Thanks for all your help."

While another added: "Chris provided an outstanding service at Captain's Bike Repairs. He restored my bike to excellent, roadworthy condition and made the entire process seamless — from booking to collection and return.

"His communication was clear and timely throughout. I highly recommend his services and will certainly return in the future - especially as I'm the sort of bloke who wants an easier life!"
