A part of the footpath at the top of Richmond Hill has been closed to pedestrians as improvement works take place.

A notice at the scene reads: "As part of Richmond Council's continued commitment to improve our parks and open spaces, please be advised that from Monday, January 11 works to replace the metal railings along Richmond Hill are to commence.

"The works are to be conducted in phases of approximately 50m to minimise the amount of disturbance to users and maintain some level of access.

"Works will begin at the border with Terrace Gardens.

"It is estimated that the complete works will take up to six weeks, but this may be subject to the weather.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience while these works are carried out."
