A wine retailer in Richmond which opened less than a year ago has won a top award.

Owners of the Good Wine Shop in Friars Stile Road expressed their joy in a post on Instagram.

They wrote: "We are absolutely delighted to announce that our Richmond Hill Shop has been awarded Decanter, London Neighbourhood Wine Shop of the Year 2020!! ðŸ†

"This is absolutely fantastic news and amazing to think that after only 9 months of existence in Richmond Hill we could win such a prestigious award.

"That without doubt is down to the fantastic team effort across the business, pulling together and evolving The Good Wine Shop in Richmond Hill with such high standards and dedication.

"We want to thank the whole team and all our lovely customers, suppliers, winemakers and the team at Decanter for making this possible - what a great accolade and recognition of the hard work in what has been such a challenging year! "

The Good Wine Shop also has stores in Kew, Teddington and Chiswick.

Praise from the Decanter Retailer Awards

The awards champion the best wine retailers in the UK. It aims to offer wine drinkers an indispensable guide to the best retail experiences.

Judge Andy Howard MW said: "I was almost astonished at how good most of the entries were given the environment that everybody was in when they would have been doing this.

"I think an awful lot of commendation needs to be given to the people who've put this together."

Huge congratulations from us! ðŸ·
