Another deer has died in Richmond Park from being attacked by a dog.

Royal Parks Police praised "brave" cyclists who attempted to chase the dog away from the red deer.

It happened on Thursday, October 1 and today (Monday, October 26) police said they have charged a man who will appear in court in January.

Parks police wrote on Twitter: "#CHARGED: On 01/10/20 in #RichmondPark an Irish Setter chased & attacked a Red Deer.

"Despite brave efforts of passing cyclists to chase the dog away, the deer had to be destroyed.

"A 44yr old male from Kingston has been charged under the Park Regulations.

"He will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates court on January 15 2021.

"It is an offence to allow any animal of which you are in charge, to chase, worry or injury any other animal within the Royal Parks."

It is the second month in a row in which a deer has died in Richmond Park after being attacked by a dog.
