Lockdown measures due to be lifted this weekend will remain, the Prime Minister announced today.

Face masks will also need to be worn in more indoor settings, including cinemas, galleries and museums, from the following weekend (August 8 onwards).

Leisure facilities were due to be reopened from Saturday, August 1, including bowling alleys and casinos.

Wedding receptions with up to 30 attendees and close-up beauty treatments were also due to be allowed.

This morning, Prime Minister Boris Johnson delayed their reintroduction for at least two weeks.

He said it was time to "squeeze that brake pedal in order to keep that virus under control" after a slight rise in infections the country.

"The prevalence of the virus in the community, in England, is likely to be rising for the first time since May," Mr Johnson said.

Richmond's rate of cases remains well below the London average and even further lower than the UK's.
