Assault probe after person struck by bottle on Richmond Riverside

By The Editor 1st Apr 2021

A person was injured after being struck by a bottle in Richmond earlier this week.

Police are investigating the incident, which happened on Richmond Riverside on Tuesday evening, as an assault.

The riverside was extremely busy all day as people flocked to it to soak up the 24C weather.

As we reported, by Wednesday morning the usually picturesque river-facing banks were covered with litter which had been left behind by visitors.

A clip showing rowdy scenes on the riverside has been circulating widely online.

Richmond Police issued an appeal for witnesses about the incident.
