A 17-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of GBH (grievous bodily harm) with intent in Kew.

Police were called to Royal Parade at 7.54am on Sunday, January 20 2019 and found a man, now aged 59, suffering from a stab injury.

He is believed to be Eric Salama, who is the chair of Comic Relief and a former government advisor on e-commerce.

He was taken to a nearby hospital where his injuries were deemed not to be life-threatening, the Metropolitan Police said.

A knife was recovered at the scene and no other injuries were reported.

The arrested teenager has been released on bail.

Officers from the South West Command Unit are investigating.
