Room for Work Career Development Course
Duke Street, Richmond TW9 1DH
21 Apr 2026 - 14 Jul 2026
Tuesday 21 April
Over-50s have the hardest time returning to work after a redundancy. It can feel like all the cards are stacked against you. If you're struggling to get back into work, and you're a Richmond resident with skills and experience, this is the programme for you. At Room for Work we understand the barriers you face. We've developed techniques you can use to get re-employed in a role you want, working in congenial circumstances for an organisation you respect.
Participants learn current job search techniques with an emphasis on networking, developing social media skills, improving CVs, using AI effectively and practising competency-based interviews. All delivered in a friendly local environment.
You'll be with like-minded people in the same situation, using the power of community to build your motivation and confidence in finding a job. The Room for Work format includes tailored, one-to-one mentoring provided by the Course Leader with follow-up coaching support.
The 12-lesson programme is for people over 40 with skills and work experience that could range from administrative to managerial and professional roles. Those who are new to the UK job market with good basic English and computer skills are also welcome to join.
This Room for Work course is supported by the Richmond Foundation. The course is free and delivered in Richmond Town Centre at Duke Street Church, TW9 1DH. Classes are held on Tuesdays from 10am-12.30pm, April 21 –July 13th.
