Gorkem Ozalp is a London-based guitarist, composer, and bandleader whose music bridges jazz, contemporary improvisation, and global influences. Born and raised in Turkey, Ozalp completed his musical education in Istanbul, performing in many of the city's prominent venues and gaining recognition within its vibrant jazz community. In 2023, he moved to London where he began developing new projects and recording his original compositions.
Earlier this year, Ozalp released his debut EP Addresses, a collection of works reflecting his journey between Istanbul and London. The EP is available on all major streaming platforms and has been accompanied by live performances across London, including appearances with his trio at cultural venues and festivals.
In performance, Ozalp leads the Gorkem Ozalp Trio, featuring bassist Costa Tancredi and drummer Burak Ersöz. Together, the trio explores a dynamic and modern jazz sound while maintaining deep roots in improvisation and storytelling. With a growing body of work, Gorkem Ozalp is establishing himself as an emerging voice in the London jazz scene, combining a rich educational background with an evolving international career.
Costa Tancredi (bass)
London-based Italian bassist Costa Tancredi studied jazz at Middlesex University, graduating in 2007. Originally from Italy, he has performed with renowned artists such as Eric Clapton, Amy Winehouse, Pee Wee Ellis, and Eliza Doolittle, while also contributing to numerous London-based bands and projects. Alongside his live work, he is active in recording and production, running a studio in North Acton and collaborating with a wide range of musicians across styles.
Burak Ersoz (drums)
London-based drummer Burak Ersöz is originally from Ankara, Turkey, where he began his musical journey as a teenager and trained under renowned local drummers. Since relocating to London, he has performed with projects such as the Anatolian Fusion Ensemble, Female Voices of Turkey, and Giants of Anatolia, blending traditional Anatolian music with jazz and contemporary sounds. Ersöz continues to establish himself as a versatile and dynamic presence in the London jazz scene.
