Summer of Play at Ham House & Garden

Grab all the family for fun-filled garden games in a giant playzone at Ham House & Garden this summer holidays.

Get active with our trail of fun-tastic garden games during the National Trust Summer of Play from 22 July to 31 August.

Our formal gardens will be transformed with games including bowls, croquet, badminton, Jenga, and hoopla this summer.

The garden games trail will snake around Ham's Inner and Outer Courtyards, South Terrace, The Plats and Wilderness, and also include skipping challenges, a tangram puzzle, and a maze.

After the games, young time travellers can journey into the 17th century this summer in an adventure around Ham House & Garden.

Explore stories of secret letters, intrigue and Royal connections during the English Civil War in the fascinating mansion on the banks of the River Thames.

Get a peek behind the scenes of the former home of the Duchess of Lauderdale, from her special circular bath to her personal writing cabinet.

Families can also watch biodiversity in action as birds, bees and other pollinators are attracted to the wildflowers that pop up across the lawns and courtyards during the summer. Follow the mini wildflower meadows around the garden to find Ham's beehives.

Don't miss a game of hide and seek in the garden's Wilderness, and check out edible produce in bloom in the kitchen garden.
