A short stroll from Vine Road Pavilion out onto Barnes Common and back. Recognise the sights, sounds and smells of nature around us!
During this walk participants will learn about the history and ecology of Barnes Common and the work that we do to protect it. There will be regular stops and some sensory linked activities. The pace of the walk will be slow and relaxed and people can chat and socialise throughout.
Who can attend:
- People living with Dementia, and any carers or supporting adults
- Older people looking for a gentler, shorter experience in nature
- Any adults with disabilities or other additional needs
- Those of all ages with sensory sensitivities or needs
- People with limited mobility, please specify if a wheelchair or mobility aids are required so we can adjust the route if necessary

General info: The tour will last about 60 minutes. The activity leader will be comfortable leading groups of people but they cannot act as carers or support workers. After the walk there will be the option to sit and chat with a cup of tea or coffee at Vine Road Recreation Ground.

Distance: Approx 1km
Child friendly: Yes, children must be accomanied by an adult who is responsible for them at all times.
Access: The walk is a mixture of paved and unpaved paths, consideration will be given to ground conditions to ensure it is accessible
This walk aims to give anyone attending an opportunity to explore nature in a small group (of 12 max), in a calm and gentle way. Spaces are limited so please book in advance - this is a free event.
