Richmond's Rob Kirby kicking for goal in 2018

For the first time in 455 days, Richmond Rugby will welcome members, supporters and families back to the Athletic Ground to watch live rugby, as they go head to head with Coventry this Saturday (Kick-off 2pm).

The Greene King IPA Championship fixture is set to be the first event to have crowds back at the Athletic Ground since Richmond's 27-10 victory over Canterbury on Saturday 29th February 2020.

London Broncos Academy Squad

The Richmond Athletic Association (RAA) has today announced a three-year agreement with the London Broncos Academy which will see both the Academy squad (U19s) and the Scholarship team (U16s) use the training facilities and play their rugby league matches at the Richmond Athletic Ground for the 2021, 2022 and 2023 seasons.

London Broncos run a licensed academy which forms part of the RFL elite player pathway for rugby league.

Richmond FC has today confirmed that the club will participate in the upcoming Greene King IPA Championship season provisionally scheduled to start on Saturday, March 6.

This has been a very difficult decision for the club's directors who were concerned not only with the financial impact on the club but on the wider community and the recent high incidence of Covid-19. The club has already received funds from the RFU/PRL in anticipation of playing in the 2020/21 Championship season, a league regarded as elite. We also completed a crowdfunding campaign in September, helping raise funds to replace the loss of our main club sponsor after six years.

Rugby at The John Fisher School

Richmond Rugby are delighted to announce a new partnership with The John Fisher School in Purley, to support and develop their rugby programme and to offer students playing opportunities at the club.

With Richmond boasting five senior men's teams, including our First XV playing in the Men's Championship, the partnership will provide students who have aspirations to continue their rugby outside of school or university with an elite playing programme to develop and improve their game.

Richmond Baseball Club are hoping to get back to winning ways by entering a new team into the National Baseball League.

The club, founded in 1992, enjoyed success on the biggest stage as the Richmond Flames were crowned National Baseball League (NBL) champions in 2006 and 2010, before three new teams were formed in 2012.

In response to this week's decision to not extend free school meals for children during the holidays and periods of lockdown, Richmond Rugby is delighted to announce we will be supplying local children with a free nutritional meal during half-term next week.

From Monday to Friday, our catering team at the Richmond Athletic Association (RAA) will cook daily nutritional meals which will then be delivered to local school children throughout our community.
