Brentford Football Club has the 15th most expensive season ticket across the Premier League and Europe, according to a new study by ticketing experts.

The research from SeatPick compared season ticket prices across the top five European football leagues, revealing that Brentford's cheapest season ticket for the 2024/25 season is priced at £495 (band B adult prices), an 18% increase from last season's £419.

The study underscores the significant cost differences between the Premier League and other major European leagues, with English football fans paying some of the highest prices to support their teams.

In an article on The Guardian, Kieran Maguire, of the University of Liverpool, said clubs were responding to cost pressures that have affected all businesses in recent years.

"Clubs have been hit by rises in fixed costs and interest rates, just like every other industry," he said.

Earlier this year, Brentford Independent Association of Supporters (BIAS) opposed the stipulated price increase.

In a statement, BIAS said: "Whilst we understand that prices cannot remain static forever, and an increase in season ticket pricing is inevitable at some point, we do not believe this is the right time to increase these prices."

Despite being the 15th most expensive overall, Brentford's asking price is comparatively higher than many European clubs.

The study also showed that Brentford has seen the third-highest percentage increase in season ticket prices among Premier League clubs after Southampton and Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal leads the list with the most expensive season tickets in Europe, priced at £1,073, followed by Tottenham with tickets starting from £856.

In contrast, the average season ticket price in the Premier League for the upcoming season stands at £594, compared to much lower averages across other European leagues where Serie A tickets average £297, La Liga £225, the Bundesliga £179, and Ligue 1 £173.

Ligue 1's Brest offers the cheapest season ticket in Europe at £42, making it 82% cheaper than the Premier League's least expensive option at West Ham, priced at £345.

La Liga side Real Betis offers the most expensive season ticket outside the Premier League, at £447.
