With schools closing and children having to be educated at home during lockdown, Richmond Rugby Club will once again offer a second-hand tech drop-off point at the club every Saturday.

The club will have a drive-through drop-off point at the entrance of the Richmond Athletic Ground every Saturday from 11am to 1pm for anyone who wishes to donate laptops or tablets to support families and their children who do not have the necessary technology at home to continue their schooling.

Residents at Barchester's Lynde House care home, near Richmond Bridge, were delighted to receive the first round of the coronavirus vaccine in their care home along with a number of staff last week.

Dr Flynn, from Hampton Wick Surgery who led the vaccinations in Lynde House, had already administered the vaccine to staff who visited the surgery before Christmas.

The Prime Minister has announced a new six-week national lockdown in a bid to curb rapidly rising Covid-19 cases that threaten to overwhelm the NHS.

In an address to the nation at 8pm this evening (Monday, January 4), Boris Johnson said primary and secondary schools must move to remote learning from tomorrow, except for vulnerable children and those of key workers.
