Richmond Police has enforced a new dispersal order in the town centre and riverside.
It gives officers extra powers to move on unruly individuals and crowds of people.
Fireworks were thrown by young people amid reports of late night disorder in Richmond.
Security and intelligence firm KSS said it had been notified of "groups armed with knives" in the town centre. "Police are on scene with dogs and more police resources arriving," they said shortly before 10pm on Friday, April 2.
There has been a collision just outside Richmond Park.
Royal Parks, the charity which manages it, said: "Please note that Kingston Gate has been closed due to a car accident outside the gates creating heavy traffic congestion.

The report on the responses to the current traffic trial in Richmond Park, which was published three weeks ago when the Royal Parks announced that the restrictions are being extended for a year, revealed that alongside the increase of traffic in surrounding areas, "dangerous interactions between cyclists and other park users" was the joint-second concern of respondents. One respondent in Kingston feared "dangerous speeds" of cyclists were putting pedestrians at risk, while another in Richmond predicted a fatality.
That's the perception. What about the reality?

Petersham Nurseries is opening for outdoor dining in less than two weeks.
Under the government's roadmap out of lockdown, 'step two' on April 12 will be when all shops can reopen and hospitality businesses can serve up to six people outside.
The Richmond Park Cyclists group has produced an excellent new Code of Conduct for people cycling in the park.
The code was produced by the group in conjunction with Royal Parks, the park police, the Friends of Richmond Park and their own members.

At high tides there will likely be flooding. Yesterday (Wednesday, March 31) the paths on Richmond Riverside and on the other side of the Thames outside Marble Hill became impassable by around 5pm.
